The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently issued a Dear Colleague Letter (DCL), dated January 1998, that clarifies issues regarding student eligibility policies that have arisen as a result of recently enacted legislation or as a result of questions from the student aid community. The DCL discusses the following issues:
