New Department of Education World Wide Web Page for Financial Aid Professionals
The Department of Education (ED) recently issued a Dear Colleague Letter (DCL), dated March 4, 1998, announcing an expansion of services and information for financial aid professionals available through the World Wide Web. The new web-site is titled AInformation for Financial Aid Professionals@ (IFAP) and is located at: http://ifap.ed.gov.
IFAP provides access to electronic copies of DCLs from 1995 to the present, the Student Financial Aid (SFA) Handbook, Verification Guides, Action Letters, Federal Registers, SFA Regulations, SFA Announcements, and other SFA related materials. Other information and services are expected to be added to IFAP soon.
This new web-site will eventually replace the current Student Financial Aid Bulletin Board System (SFA BBS). Until that time, information will be updated on the SFA BBS and IFAP. Questions or comments on IFAP can be sent by e-mail to csb@ed.gov or by fax to (202) 260-4199. A copy of the DCL can be found on ED’s web-site at http://sfa.ope.ed.gov/TM. If you are unable to access this web-site and would like a copy of the DCL, please contact Lynda Reid at (801) 321-7211.
Any questions regarding the this letter can be directed to the UHEAA Policy and Training Department at (801) 321-7166.
