As you know, the Department of Education requires lenders to provide loan-level information to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) on at least a quarterly basis. During the process of reconciling data with NSLDS, UHEAA has determined that an unnecessary cycle of errors occurs due to updates to current principal and interest balances not being reported by lenders during the interim months. To stabilize this cycle and show an accurate history of errors, UHEAA strongly encourages lender to submit their NSLDS Lender Manifest Report on a monthly, rather than quarterly, basis. We appreciate lenders' cooperation in helping to ensure that NSLDS contains complete and accurate data.
If you have any questions or concerns about lender reporting requirements, please feel free to contact UHEAA's Manager of Data Base Quality, Brenda Jensen, at (801) 321-7181.
