Year 2000 Disclosure Notice and School Testing
The Department of Education (ED) recently released two Dear Colleague Letters (DCLs) updating the status of ED's Year 2000 activities. DCL GEN-99-12 announces that the systems which support ED's Student Financial Aid Programs, including the Title IV Wide Area Network and the EDConnect for Windows 32-Bit software package, are Year 2000 compliant.
DCL GEN-99-14, addressed to institution presidents, invites schools to participate in ED's Year 2000 school testing to ensure that data exchanges comply with the Federal Government's Y2K standards. For more information on which individual program systems and exchanges are to be tested and when, visit ED's web-site at http://www.ed.gov/y2k.
Copies of these DCLs are available on ED's web-site at http://ifap.ed.gov.
