Sections of the 1999-2000 SFA Handbook Released

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently issued an Announcement, dated May 17, 1999, regarding the posting of two core sections of the 1999-2000 Student Financial Aid Handbook on ED's web-site at http://ifap.ed.gov.  The Student Eligibility section contains information traditionally found in Chapter 2 of the Handbook and now includes material previously published in The Verification Guide, the EFC Formula Book, and the Counselor's Handbook for Postsecondary Schools. ED will no longer issue these publications separately. The Institutional Eligibility and Participation section contains numerous subsections traditionally found in Chapter 3, such as eligibility, cash management, general participation, recordkeeping and disclosure, student consumer information, and participation requirements. ED is in the process of having these sections printed and will mail them shortly.

A copy of the Announcement and two sections of the 1999-2000 Student Financial Aid Handbook can be accessed from ED's web-site at http://ifap.ed.gov. If you are unable to access this web-site and would like a copy of the Announcement, please contact Lynda Reid at (801) 321-7211.  Any questions regarding this bulletin can be directed to the UHEAA Policy and Training Department at (801) 321-7166.
