Approval of Loan Deferment Forms

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently issued a Dear Guaranty Agency Director (DGAD) letter, dated July 1999, announcing the approval of eight forms pertaining to the deferment of a Federal Family Education Loan. The forms are as follows:
 

1. Unemployment
2. Public Service
3. Parental Leave/Working Mother
4. PLUS Borrower With Dependent Student
5. In-School
6. Economic Hardship
7. Education Related
8. Temporary Total Disability
These forms must be used when providing loan deferment applications on or after November 1, 1999.  Other loan deferment applications issued prior to that date may continue to be processed.
