2001-2002 Application Processing System

    The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently published an Action Letter, GEN-00-22, providing information about changes and enhancements to the 2001-2002 application processing systems.  This Action Letter, the second in a series of three, explains the changes ED has made to the application delivery system for the 2001-2002 award year.  The first Action Letter, GEN-00-19, covered changes to ED’s EDESuite/EDExpress software.  (See UHEAA Bulletin Volume 2000 – Issue 99.)   This Action Letter contains several enclosures that address the following:

• Summary of 2001-2002 FAFSA Changes
• Summary of Changes to the 2001-2002 Application Processing System
• 2001-2002 FAFSA and FAFSA Instructions
• 2001-2002 Renewal FAFSA and Renewal FAFSA Instructions
• 2001-2002 Student Aid Report (SAR), SAR Acknowledgment, and draft ISIR Record Layout
