Return of Title IV Funds Software

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently released an Announcement, dated July 7, 2000, regarding the release of Version 1.1 of the Return of Title IV Funds software product.  As you know, the rules regarding the treatment of Title IV funds when a student withdraws have changed significantly and should be fully implemented by October 7, 2000.  The Return of Title IV Funds software is designed to assist schools in calculating and managing the return of Title IV funds in student withdrawal situations, and can be used to process and analyze information for multiple processing years.

The new Version 1.1 incorporates several changes made as a result of school feedback regarding the pre-release edition, Version 1.0 (see UHEAA Bulletin Volume 2000 - Issue 37). Version 1.1 is available in two formats and may be downloaded from ED's SFAdownload web site at http://www.SFAdownload.ed.gov.  This web site also contains The Return of Title IV Funds Installation Guide and the Version 1.1 Cover Letter containing important information and system requirements.

If you need assistance connecting to the SFAdownload web site or downloading Version 1.1, you may contact ED's Title IV WAN Customer Service at (800) 615-1189 or via e-mail at T4WAN@NCS.COM.  If you encounter technical problems once the software has been downloaded, contact CPS Customer Service at (800) 330-5947, option 9, or via e-mail at CPS@NCS.COM.  A copy of this Announcement can be obtained from ED's web site at http://ifap.ed.gov.  If you are unable to access this web site and would like a hard copy of this Announcement, or if you have any questions related to this Bulletin, please contact the UHEAA Policy and Department at (801) 321-7166 or by e-mail at cjudd@utahsbr.edu.
