Notice of Proposed Rulemaking Concerning the Federal
Perkins Loan Program and the Federal Family Education Loan Program
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) in a August 2, 2000 Federal Register regarding the Federal Perkins Loan Program and the Federal Family Education Loan Program. The proposed regulations incorporate provisions contained in the recent reauthorization of the Higher Education Act (HEA). The proposed regulatory changes impact the following sections of 34 CFR:
