Process for Requesting Renewal FAFSA for 2001-2002

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently issued an Action Letter, GEN-00-13, regarding the 2001-2002 Renewal Free Application process for Federal Student Aid (Renewal FAFSA), providing specific information on the Renewal Application Destination (RAD) data request options available to schools and instructions for submitting a RAD request.  This letter also contains eight enclosures that provide important information about the RAD request process and step-by-step instructions to schools who request electronic files and/or printed materials for the 2001-2001 Renewal FAFSA process.  This letter also announces the October release of a new stand-alone PC-based Renewal Applications for Windows 2001-2001, version 1.0.  This Action Letter is a follow-up to a July 2000 Action Letter, GEN-00-10 (see UHEAA Bulletin Volume 2000 - Issue 53).

Questions regarding the Renewal FAFSA request process should be directed to ED's Central Processing System Customer Service Division (CPS) at (800) 330-5947 or by e-mail at CPS@NCS.COM.  A copy of this Action Letter can be found on ED's web site at http://ifap.ed.gov.  If you are unable to access this web site and would like a hard copy of the letter, please contact Stacey Roberts at (801) 321-7211.  Any questions relating to this Bulletin can be directed to the UHEAA Policy and Training Department at (801) 321-7166 or by e-mail at cjudd@utahsbr.edu.
