Campus Crime Data Collection Deadline Extended

    The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently released an Announcement regarding the collection of campus crime statistics using the Internet.  The Announcement extends the reporting deadline to October 24, 2000.  Any school that has not submitted its data should contact ED's Campus Security Help Desk (1-800-435-5985 or campussecurityhelp@westat.com) for its USER ID, PASSWORD and ED's URL for the data collection.  Final regulations concerning these new reporting requirements can be found in a November 1, 1999 Federal Register.  (See UHEAA Bulletins Volume 1999 - Issue 80 and Volume 2000 - Issue 60.)
