The Federal Perkins Loan Program Final Regulations
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) recently published
a Federal Register, dated November 1, 2000, containing final regulations
regarding the Federal Perkins Loan Program. The regulations incorporate
provisions contained in the recent reauthorization of the Higher Education
Act (HEA). The regulatory changes impact the following sections of
34 CFR:

Sec. 674.13 Reimbursement to the Fund.
Sec. 674.39 Loan rehabilitation.
Sec. 674.49 Bankruptcy of borrower.
Sec. 674.50 Assignment of defaulted loans to the
