UHEAA Conversion Schedule for New Systems

    After months of careful planning and testing, UHEAA is pleased to announce the conversion of its guarantee, school product, and lender services systems to comprehensive, state-of-the-art systems provided by Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA).  These systems are designed to provide schools, students, and lenders with maximum flexibility, choice, operational efficiency, and technical innovation.

    UHEAA's new guarantee system will be named "OneLINK."  The school product will be known as "UHEAA OneLINK" and the lender services system will be named "COMPASS."  Utilizing these systems with sophisticated technology such as imaging, workflow processing, Internet access and call center equipment, UHEAA remains committed to its core objective of providing the highest possible level of responsive customer service.

    UHEAA is confident the conversion to these new systems will be successful.  Since UHEAA's total database contains nearly one million loan records, considerable effort and time will be needed to complete the conversion.  UHEAA is making every effort to minimize disruptions and to keep the conversion period as short as possible.  Please note the following key dates:
 

May 25, 2001:

Last Day of Application and Disbursement Processing Prior to Conversion.  UHEAA will continue to process loan applications, disbursements, and related transactions such as cancellations and loan changes through the close of business on Friday, May 25, 2001.  Schools are encouraged to review their application and disbursement needs and submit all loan certifications and changes as far in advance of the May 25, 2001 deadline as possible. UHEAA is placing personal calls to all loan applicants to encourage them to sign and return the promissory note prior to the May 25, 2001 deadline.  After the May 25th deadline, no applications, changes, or disbursements will be processed until the conversion is completed.

June 5, 2001:

First Day for Application and Disbursement Processing on the New Systems.  UHEAA will resume processing on Tuesday, June 5, 2001.  Applications, disbursements, and changes received after the May 25, 2001 deadline will be processed beginning June 5th.  Normal processing will continue from June 5, 2001 forward.

     Immediately after the conversion, UHEAA staff will implement the new school product, UHEAA OneLINK.  Training sessions will be held on each campus, beginning with the current ULTRA schools.
