Department of Education Spring Conference

    The U. S. Department of Education (ED) is holding its second annual Spring Conference in Kansas City, MO on March 5-7, 2003.  This conference is provided for all schools participating in Federal Student Aid Programs and will focus on the loan programs and program integrity.  For further highlights and information please see ED's Electronic Announcement at http://www.ifap.ed.gov/eannouncements/011003FSASpringConfInvite.html.

    ED has posted the conference agenda and session descriptions along with registration and hotel reservation information at http://edeworkshop.ncspearson.com/.  Session topics include Verification, Needs Analysis, Default Management, Consolidation, Policy and Program Updates and more.

    The registration deadline for the conference is February 14th.  Registration is free but attendance is limited.  The deadline to reserve a sleeping room at reduced rates at the conference site is February 10th.

    ED will also hold its 3rd Annual Career Colleges and Technical Institutions Pre-Conference Day Meeting on Tuedsay, March 4th from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  There will be two general sessions covering electronic processing in the new COD environment and current and upcoming program issues that may impact career and technical institutions.  Registration is also required for this pre-conference meeting.
