UHEAA Contacts Relating to Department of Education’s Student Loan Ombudsman’s Office

    Occasionally a student loan borrower may question or dispute the amount or terms of a loan.  Such occurrences are usually resolved at the school or lender level.  If a borrower disputes the terms of his or her loan to the lender in writing and the lender does not resolve the dispute, the lender’s response to the borrower must provide the borrower with a contact at the guaranty agency.

    David Feitz and Gail Norris will serve as the contacts at UHEAA for resolution of borrower disputes that are not resolved by the lender.  Mr. Feitz will serve as the primary contact with Mr. Norris as the secondary contact.  While the need for referrals of unresolved problems should be rare, Mr. Feitz and Mr. Norris will work to resolve disputes and will provide the borrower with information, as required by regulation, on the availability of the Student Loan Ombudsman’s office
(34 CFR 682.208).
