Guidance Provided on Hurricane Katrina

The U.S. Department of Education recently provided initial guidance related to federal aid issues and Hurricane Katrina. This guidance can be reviewed at the following Web site: http://www.ifap.ed.gov/eannouncements/0902HurricaneKatrinaGuid.html. Please note the reference to the Department’s general guidance for natural disasters which can be found in Dear Colleague Letter GEN-04-04.

Also, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) has established a resource page devoted to Hurricane Katrina. This can be found at the following Web address: http://www.nasfaa.org/linklists/katrina.html#aid. This page provides links to policy guidance, news from schools and associations, and other sources related to this disaster.
