UHEAA Data Not Involved with Recent Loss of Nelnet Student Loan Data Tape

UHEAA’s servicer, Nelnet, has notified its customers that a computer data tape containing the personal information of approximately 188,000 student loan borrowers was lost by United Parcel Service (UPS). No UHEAA loan data was included on the missing tape, and all UHEAA data held by Nelnet is secure.

Recent media reports concerning the lost tape may generate inquiries from concerned borrowers. If you do receive any inquiries concerning the missing Nelnet tape, please reassure the borrowers that UHEAA data was not involved.
