Mountain America & Salt Lake Credit Unions Merge
Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority was notified that Mountain America Credit Union and Salt Lake Credit Union have merged under the Mountain America name. Both credit unions have been partner lenders with UHEAA.
Effective May 1, 2008, all new FFEL loans should be processed through Mountain America Credit Union, using the MACU lender code. Scheduled second disbursements for loans originally made through Salt Lake Credit Union will be made as planned.
Students whose loans were first issued by Salt Lake Credit Union will not have to sign a new Master Promissory Note. All loans will be converted to show the Mountain America Credit Union Lender ID.
Attached to the Bulletin are the lists of lenders currently participating in the FFELP Stafford and PLUS Loan programs. Both lists include just Mountain America Credit Union, Salt Lake Credit Union having been deleted.
