2008-2009 Federal Pell Grant Payment and Disbursement Schedules

Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority has determined the 2008-2009 Federal Pell Grant Payment and Disbursement Schedules were posted by Federal Student Aid.  The Schedules will be used for calculating Federal Pell Grant awards for the program year July1, 2008 through June 30, 2009.

In October of last year, FSA announced the repeal of the “tuition sensitivity” provision and elimination of the Alternate Payment and Disbursement Schedules for the 2007-2008 award year.  Therefore, all 2008-2009 Federal Pell Grant awards will be based on this single set of Payment and Disbursement Schedules.

The maximum Federal Pell Grant award for 2008-2009 will be $4,731, an increase of $421 from 2007-2008.  For students enrolled less than full time, the increase is ratably reduced according to enrollment status using the three-quarter-time, half-time, and less-than-half-time Disbursement Schedules.

Dear Colleague Letter P-08-01, with the attached Payment and Disbursement Schedules, can be accessed at http://ifap.ed.gov/dpcletters/P0801.html.  The DCL also contains related guidance and references for financial aid professionals.
