FAFSA Requirement for Grad PLUS Loans
Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority has learned Federal Student Aid posted a reminder to institutions regarding GRAD PLUS loans and the requirement that a FAFSA be filed by applicants.
According to FSA, graduate and professional students who apply for PLUS loan must complete a FAFSA. The Department of Education performs matches with other federal databases that help determine the student’s eligibility for Title IV assistance. Reference is made to Dear Colleague Letter GEN-06-02, which addressed eligibility of graduate and professional students for PLUS loans.
