Electronic Cohort Default Rate Appeals Process Training

Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority reports that Federal Student Aid has just announced that electronic Cohort Default Rate Appeals process (eCDR Appeals) training sessions will be offered online.

Led by an instructor, these online trainings will demonstrate how a school or data manager user completes the registration process for the eCDR Appeals system.  The sessions will also demonstrate how a school user prepares an incorrect data challenge (IDC) and how a data manager user responds to an IDC through the eCDR Appeals system.

Sessions will be offered separately for school users and for data manager users.  The first online training, specifically for schools, will be conducted Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm Eastern Standard Time.  The session for data managers will be presented Wednesday, February 27, 2008, also from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm Eastern Standard Time.  Registration is not required for either of these sessions.

Information for the online training sessions is detailed in the FSA Electronic Announcement found at http://ifap.ed.gov/eannouncements/022108eCDRAppealsTraining.html.  On January 24, 2008, FSA announced the availability of the electronic Cohort Default Rate Appeals process.  Draft Cohort Default Rates were released by the U.S. Department of Education on Monday, February 11, 2008.
