Career preparation and an LDS environment are two hallmarks of LDS Business College. Single mom students can go from classroom to career in two years or less, or enter a general studies program leading to a university transfer degree. The College offers two-year AAS degrees and one-year certificate programs designed to get students into the work force quickly in Accounting, Business Skills, Information Technology, Interior Design, Medical Careers, and Office Technology. Associate of Science degrees for university or college transfer are offered in General Studies and Business. LDS Business College's central location in downtown Salt Lake City offers education-related opportunities such as internships and outreach programs, as well as abundant full- and part-time employment opportunities
LDS Business College has developed an approach to help single parents, especially women, improve their earning potential. Single parents enrolled at the College use scholarship funds to pay tuition, books, and other expenses. The students enroll in one of six career-oriented programs: accounting, business, computers, medical careers, interior design, or office technology. For the past 10 years, the College has successfully placed 90 percent of its graduates. LDS Business College offers the Stella Harris Oaks Horizons of Hope Single-Parent Scholarship to single parents with a dependent child under the age of 18 in the home. The scholarship is currently a $1,500 award for each semester the student is enrolled full-time at LDS Business College. The student is also assigned a mentor.
